Adam has mounted over fifteen original music-based stage productions in New York and Los Angeles. Typically showcasing a horde of performers and musicians while deploying a comprehensive visual aesthetic, they are best described as spectaculars.

His annual holiday show, CHAOS & CANDY, began as a gallery presentation at Deitch Projects and grew in scope for eight consecutive years. Each new installment was highly anticipated and featured guest stars such as operatic countertenor Anthony Roth Costanzo or Scissor Sisters front man Jake Shears.  Later productions were mounted at New York nightclub The Box and downtown proscenium theater the Abrons Arts Center. The last installment, UNHOLY NIGHT, was an original hard rock/metal fantasia exploring the supernatural legends surrounding the holiday season.

In DUELING HARPS, Adam and performance artist Ann Magnuson sparred with songs in a darkly elegant and comedic cabaret backed by the harpists Mia Theodoratus (playing for Dugas) and Alexander Rannie (playing for Magnuson). Originating at the Steve Allen Theater in Los Angeles, the show was remounted at REDCAT (Roy and Edna Disney/CALARTS Theater) in downtown Los Angeles and the Abrons Arts Center in New York City.

A founding member of cabaret troupe THE CITIZENS BAND, Adam was integral in creating four large-scale productions. In addition to writing and directing with co-founder Sarah Sophie Flicker, he contributed original songs and was a featured performer. Deitch Projects, which represented the project and presented the larger shows, mounted THE TREPANNING OPERA at Art Basel Miami Beach in the gardens of the Raleigh Hotel.

Adam is currently presenting a new cabaret show - “An Evening With… Adam Dugas” - that features a songbook culled from pop music, cult film soundtracks, cabaret classics, deep cut showtunes and his original compositions.
