Darkly
elegant, psychedelic and sophisticated, harp and vocal duo ADAM &
MIA present original compositions and dramatically interpret a wide
range of songs from the pop, folk, and classical canons. Adam Dugas
sings and harpist Mia Theodoratus plucks the strings of a concert
grand as they attack material by Syd Barrett, Irving Berlin, Leonard
Cohen, Radiohead, Kraftwerk, and the Baroque art songs of Henry Purcell.
Currently recording an album of their duets, Adam & Mia made their
debut as a duo at the Glamour Bar in Shanghai, China and have since
performed at the Rose Bar/Gramercy Park Hotel, the Box, the Gershwin
Hotel, CRG gallery, Rose Live Music among other venues. Their show
"Ravens & Roses" premiered at the Metropolitan Room
in New York.
In
September, 2007 their theatrical show, Dueling Harps, a collaboration
with actress-singer Ann Magnuson and harpist Alexander Rannie, premiered
at the Steve Allen Theater in Hollywood. Dueling Harps was
remounted at the REDCAT performance space in Los Angeles in October,
2008, with the special participation of puppeteer Robin Walsh.
